Does your inner critic look something like this?
Does he/she point the finger at you and criticize you, make you feel small, humiliated and stupid?
It is TIME to dissolve your inner critic for good.
She/he has no business being inside your head, your heart, your body, your psyche or your spirit.
We are not designed to have an inner critic. Our human design is to be in alignment with our true natue. When our true nature is fully online, there is NO ROOM for the inner critic.
Our inner critic grows inside us as a result of our conditioning, our dysfunctional family system and faulty programs that tell us there must be something WRONG with us. There is nothing wrong with us at all!
Take a moment and imagine life without your inner critic…….
Ahhhhh! Doesn’t that feel sweet?
Here are some common QUESTIONS about the inner critic:
- Where does my inner critic come from?
- How did it get inside me?
- Does everyone struggle with this?
- Why is my inner critic so destructive?
Where does my inner critic come from?
Well, from a psychological perspective, your inner critic is an archetype that was introjected (swallowed in) from a number of different places – usually from the primary people in your young life. The inner critic often sounds a lot like your mother or father or an influential teacher or authority figure. The inner critic can also be an archetypal energy that you bring with you from other times and places. When I look at an astrology chart, I can often see the inner critic pattern right there in the chart.
The Inner critic can also come from our collective western psyche that demands we behave in certain ways or demands we be perfet or demands we know everything! Wherever it comes from, it can be a deep-rooted and tenacious part of the personality!!!
How did it get inside me?
The Inner Critic often grows as a defense or shield when we are very small. It is like a protector, keeping us in line, making us blend in, helping us survive. The inner critic “socializes” us and makes us behave so that we don’t get kicked out of our tribe. It is a powerful survival pattern that we swallow in to stay alive.
Does everyone struggle with this?
My experience is that this is a universal phenomenon, a result of tribal socialization and punitive parenting strategies (typical in the West).
Why is my inner critic so destructive?
When the inner critic goes unchecked in the psyche, it gets normalized and we think it is “normal” to have a destructive, judgmental voice as a key part of our personality. THIS IS A LIE!!!!! It is not normal or part of our spiritual human design to have any destructive voices inside.
Of course, it is important to have a discerning part of the personality, but our discernment often morphs and distorts into the judge or inner critic. When this part of the personality is not under the conscious control of your True Self (the captain of your ship) then it becomes an inflated, autonomous character, a part of your personality that seems to have free reign within your psyche. It then gains power and shreds and destroys our self-esteem.
NO MORE INNER CRITIC!
I hope you are thinking and feeling this! No More. We do not want a judging, criticizing character to have any power within our psyches at all. Period.
