The 33 Sacred Robes are hand-painted silk robes that I design with life size archetypal figures.
They represent 33 Master Guides from various cultures and traditions.
Each Robe is a spiritual guide imparting wisdom and knowledge and is imbued with colors, symbols and mythic images to facilitate transformation and planetary healing.
Together the 33 Robes form a body of knowledge and wisdom from the 33 Master Guides. They guide you on a path of Initiation to awaken your Inner Master, connect deeply with earth and all creation and celebrate the gifts of life.
33 Robes, 33 Spiritual Qualities
The 33 Sacred Robes represent 33 Master Guides transmitting 33 qualities you can invite into your life.
The 33 qualities are:
Source, Renewal, Nurturing, Play, Passion, Peace, Joy, Guidance, Imagination, Balance, Truth, Breakthrough, Awareness, Determination, Strength, Compassion, Power, Inspiration, Acceptance, Courage, Love, Knowledge, Understanding, Wisdom, Trust, Creativity, Transformation, Mastery, Liberation, Healing, Vision, Manifestation and Integration.
Stepping into new possibilities
Since 1999 I have been designing and creating silk robes for healing, teaching, ceremony and ritual.
The idea originated when I wanted to find a creative medium to facilitate personal mastery so that my students could actually get into the robes and step into new possibilities for their lives.
What does it feel like to wear a Sacred Robe?
When you step into the Love Robe, the Inspiration Robe, the Wisdom Robe or the Nurturing Robe you can receive Love, Inspiration, Wisdom or the Nurturing you need in the moment.
You literally step into a reservoir of Love or Compassionate energy held within the robe itself. You can then use this energy and consciousness for your own spiritual evolution.
When people wear the robes they report receiving healing, energy shifts, helpful information, answers, spiritual transmissions, visions and bliss.
Where did the vision for the 33 Robes come from?
Then in 2012 I had a vision to create an entire body of 33 Robes to embody the full Initiation Path of Awakening.
On the summer solstice in June, 2012 I was in Damanhur, a spiritual community in the Italian alps where I have been taking groups for many years. One day I was walking in one of the outdoor labyrinths and I had a powerful spiritual experience.
A group of spiritual guides who identified themselves as The Grand Council “dropped in” to my awareness. “We want you to animate us through your sacred robes, and there will be 33.”
This is what I heard or understood (this kind of intuitive awareness is always hard to describe in words). Then I saw a vision of a group of people in my robes, sitting in a circle and singing / toning and people were being healed by the vibration of the robes and the music.
I knew this would be my next big project – to animate the robes and create this Grand Council of 33 Spiritual Guides.
may the robes bring abundance in all ways
Designing the Robes
When I design the robes, I tune into the spiritual elder that is emerging and I sense into what he or she wants to communicate. I go into a meditative state and imagine the spiritual guides in their own time, culture and milieu.
Then they begin a transmission of the story they want to tell.
As I draw the life-size figure, the symbols and messages come alive and sometimes the designs change dramatically as I dialogue with the guide. Other times the images come fully formed in my dreams or during meditation.
The elders call forth spiritual qualities such as Joy, Peace, Wisdom, Love, Compassion, Courage, Liberation, Healing, Nurturing and Mastery.
After the design of the robe is completed, I then trace it onto a large piece of white silk and paint the entire figure by hand.
Diverse Cultures and Traditions
The 33 Robes represent 33 different spiritual elders from many diverse cultural and spiritual traditions. I have done extensive research on the images, colors, designs, symbols, feelings and spiritual teachings from the different traditions. I have also traveled to most of the countries and places each elder represents, which has given me such a deep appreciation and love of what each culture has to offer.
For example, in the picture above, you can see from left to right, traditions from the Inuit, Greek, Celtic, Balinese, Viking and in the back, Japanese.
As you spend time with each robe and spiritual guide, you can call forth the wisdom and guidance each has to offer.
It is imperative that we listen deeply to what each spiritual tradition is offering to humanity at this time. The spiritual elders on the robes have vital information to impart to us so that we can live together in joy, create peace, cultivate diversity, heal the planet and find solutions to our current challenges.
My Living Temple Project is dedicated to raising this awareness as people from different parts of the world share blessings, prayers, songs and hopes for our world today.
The Tree of Life
If you are familiar with the Kabbalah, each robe represents one point or pathway on the Tree of Life. You may enjoy playing with the images and their correlations on the Tree. For more on the robes and the Tree of Life click here.
